Botox is a medical product (it’s poison) that is used to stop sweating. In beauty, it is used to stop or freeze wrinkles, but it means you can never become an actress, as you can’t express yourself. If you presently use Botox, know that also each fresh batch is tested on mice (by law), so it’s not cruelty-free either. There are a few more natural alternatives that are also cheaper:
- Hibiscus is known as ‘nature’s Botox’ and if you don’t mind shopping from the US, SW Basics makes a good Hibiscus Mask that claims to work as well. If you have blood pressure or diabetes issues, don’t drink hibiscus tea. Read the founder’s book Skin Cleanse, which explains how to have good skin, with simple nutrition tips and kitchen cupboard ingredient recipes.
- Natural Elements sells a kit that claims to make you look 10 years younger, all made with natural ingredients. This special blend of oils was created by expert cosmetologists, which can reach into the dermis.
- Frownies are paper packs that you stick on your face a few hours before a special event, and they work to temporarily remove wrinkles (used by Hollywood stars).
If I wanted to be prettier: fillers and Botox might help. But my feelings come out in my face. And show who I am inside, in ways that words can’t express. Diane Keaton
