Or better yet, they suggest serving with freshly cut apple slices, and a sage leaf or too. Certified kosher and gluten-free. Swapping to this brand helps others to gain access to fresh water.
The company was founded by Duncan Goose, who was inspired to start an ethical brand after being caught in Hurricane Mitch in Honduras in 1998, a natural disaster that killed 20,000 people and he experienced life without access to safe drinking water. After working in marketing, he saw a photo of a girl in the Guardian sitting next to a padlocked tap. He remortgaged his flat, quit his job and launched One Water, the first ethical bottled water that gave away profits to the world’s poorest community. This led to The One Foundation, his own charity where sales from this gin go. So far it has transformed the lives of 3.6 million people in need.
Duncan launched One Gin on World Water Day and his drink was just one of 20 (from 379 entries) to win Gold Metal at the IWSC awards. You can find this gin in local shops and pubs, and in some supermarkets. It’s also on the gift menu at Claridges. The butterfly branding signifies the old adage that the tiny flutter of a butterfly’s wing, can trigger a cyclone on the other side of the world.
