Firefighter Zen is a field guide for tough times. This book is a unique collection of true stories and practical wisdom, sharing techniques to allow you to stay grounded while navigating danger, comforting others and copying with your own personal response to each crisis.
What makes this book unique is that it’s written by a volunteer firefighter, who spends his life walking towards (rather than away from) danger. Firefighters are trained to be fully in the moment and present to the heartbeat – the life at hand. The five sections of the book applies this experience to your own life. Learn how to maintain balance (even in the midst of urgency) and to prepare for adversity, as well as aftermath and recovery. Then find 6 ways to thrive in difficult times. This is an invaluable guide to meeting each day with calm, creativity and optimism.
